“We are a family with three small children, aged 3, 6 and nearly 9 years old. We love getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city and escaping to the beach for a back to basics weekend and to spend some quality time together as a family.

When our eldest was little, we used to travel with a lot of luggage, which took great effort! A small child seemed to need a lot of things!

But we learned.

Now, all the things for the whole family of 5 for a weekend at the sea can fit into four backpacks. We don’t need many things anymore because what we do take with us is of such good quality that we can fully rely on it.

When we arrive at our holiday destination, this kind of traveling gives us unbelievable freedom and lightness: Without unpacking our backpacks, we directly run to the beach.

The kids love to play with all the new things they discover and don’t miss their toys at all.

Stones and mussels, sand and water, even snails become a great adventure.

Within two days we’re so relaxed, it feels like we’re in the second week of the summer holidays.

On the day we leave, the weather suddenly becomes rainy and stormy but we’re well prepared – we have packed for all weather eventualities, including my quality rain poncho that can fit all my little ones under if the rain descends!”
