Gift Responsibly, Thoughtfully & Happy this Christmas

Gift Responsibly, Thoughtfully & Happy this Christmas

December 17, 2018

During the festive period shopping can become a full time dedication for some. At the Peoples poncho however, we believe that consumerism isn’t the key for a happy Christmas.

Receiving and giving quality gifts that will help in your day to day life may not seem as sparkly and fun but are the ones that you go back to day after day, long after Christmas is over. Opting for small but well thought out gifts is the way forward and produces much lest waste.

Christmas

We get sucked in with the constant adverts, the lights and the advent countdown but really when it all boils down to it, it’s a time for spending quality time with your loved ones.

Here are some thoughtful gift ideas for whatever your budget.

  1. A Blurb photo book. Give someone the gift of the memories you’ve shared together over the past year. Its fun to make, delivered to your door and doesn’t cost the earth and its even easy to wrap!
  2. Get cooking! Make jams, chutneys, biscuits and even chocolates to dish out come Christmas day – who doesn’t love food on Christmas day?!
  3. A Waterproof Poncho. Give someone the gift of adventure this Christmas. You’ve heard it before, but we’ll say it again. There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing! Get yours here
  4. A donation to a charity – Cycling Without Age get the aging population out and about on a bike to experience the world around them. What could be a better feeling than spreading joy this Christmas?
  5. An experience – Cooking or bread making class, wine tasting, a flight… the possibilities are endless.
  6. Waterproof boots for snowy or rainy adventures – keep your loved one’s feet cosy and dry for years to come…. Our faves are from Lemon Jelly
  7. Fill your stocking consciously. For the festival lover or just general glitter lover in your life, go for our favourite bio degradable glitter company Eco Glitter Fun.
  8. Clothing that helps the homeless. Charity, The Blankfaces have created their business with the hope to end homelessness. Each design is either inspired of designed by a homeless person. They are a social enterprise and give 100% of their profits to the homeless.
The most important thing is to not bankrupt yourself trying to show people how much you love them. Enjoy the festivities but enjoy them to your means and try not to get too caught up in the Christmas craziness. Enjoy your time off with your loved ones and eat until your hearts content!
