"more than just a superhero cape" - Total Women Cycling

They’ve been around in cycling for years and whilst they may be more popular overseas, cycling ponchos and capes have been seen pedalling around the UK in growing numbers.

"Johnny & Iona Ratcliffe were inspired by China’s rain embracing culture and so took a simple poncho and developed it especially for the needs of cyclists in the West. The People’s Poncho was established in 2016, since then, they’ve worked tirelessly to source the optimum fabrics for versatility and breathability, but with total waterproof protection too.

Their waterproof cycling poncho 3.0 is constructed from three layer membrane which consists of a thick Japanese polyester, a TPU waterproof coating which is protective to 12,000mm of water and a Tricot Knit layer for breathability.

There are a number of features which make this poncho cycling-specific and fit for the purpose of riding your bike.

There’s a water resistant front pouch to store your essentials safely, an adjustable peaked hood large enough to cover your helmet and three popper buttons on either side to make sleeves for when walking

What’s great about The People’s Poncho is that it’s pretty versatile and not just for cycling. If you enjoy walking, hiking, festivals and the general outdoors, these ponchos are wicked for keeping you protected and dry.
